Par Moi translates simply as ‘by me’. Founded in Naarm/Melbourne by Ashiya Omundsen in 2019 as a quiet response to fast fashion, the label makes season-less pieces designed, drafted, cut and sewn by hand by Ashiya and a few close friends. Nothing is made in bulk. Each piece is made to order or in very limited runs, so only what is needed is ever produced.
Clothing is cut from deadstock and surplus fabric, giving cloth that would otherwise sit unused a second life, including the small-batch seersucker pieces for babies and toddlers. The jewellery follows the same hand, pairing baroque pearls, glass conch beads and polished stones with 925 sterling silver, each piece a little different from the next. Par Moi is slow making in its truest sense: made with care, made to last, and made by her.
