About Us

Centred on creativity, connection,
and the intentional act of living beautifully.

Second Sand Studio was named as an ode to our home, Minjerribah — the world's second-largest sand island. Owned by the second generation of island makers, the name is also a subtle nod to the second life every garment deserves.

The story begins with Clare and her beloved sister,
Tania in their mother's island drapery, where their mother handwove their clothes. Unbeknownst at the time, this instilled a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship, textiles, and the quality of a well-made garment — a love now evolved into a shared devotion to pieces that honour their makers and leave people feeling genuinely beautiful, inside and out.

Minjerribah is the soul of the studio.
We acknowledge the Quandamooka people as the Traditional Custodians of this island, and we work in ways that respect the land that holds us. We honour fair trade, traditional knowledge, natural fibres, and the hands of the people who make what we sell.

Second Sand Studio presents a refined selection of artisanal pieces from makers whose work reflects soulful design, enduring quality, and intentional creation.

More than a boutique, the studio is a creative hub — home to editorial-style photography sessions with Julie Sisco, who captures people and products with authenticity and artistry, and to intimate workshops designed to foster community, celebrate craft, and inspire creativity.

Everything here has a story of meaning.
Rare things, made with love,
for a life well lived.
