Double exposure film workshop with Gwencyphen Paull

We invite you to this event where Gwen will share her insights about film photography and double exposure.

About Gwencyphen

Gwen photographs the world around her with a special attention to nature and humanity. She has grown a following for her use of layered frames; known as double exposure, alongside her beautiful connection to a lifelong relationship with film photography. Gwencyphen is playful and sensitive, the perfect candidate for film. She'll show you how it works, what makes a double exposure land, and how to think about two images as one story.

The workshop

This workshop will involve participants in experimenting with manual film cameras and the art of double exposure.

One frame of nature. One frame of you or of florals. Pressed together on a single piece of film.

You don't need a camera. We'll share three between the group, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.

We'll celebrate the natural elements of Minjerribah / Terangerrie around us, shooting ocean, florals and each other along the way.

What's included

• Film, developing and scanning
• Around 10 frames each (a double exposure uses two)
• A group chat once the film returns from the lab, with Gwen talking through intentions and outcomes
• You're welcome to bring your own film camera if you have one

Good to know

The group has been intentionally limited in size to remain intimate and focus as much on detail and everyone getting hands on experience.
